The aim of the Development Plan is to increase the passenger traffic volume on the Aeroporto dello Stretto with several works and projects for the fitting and enlargement of the airside and all airport infrastructures.

In fact, since February 2007, even the second runway, 11/29, has become operational, whereas works for the lengthening of the runway 15/33 are still being carried out as fast as possible.

New aprons for aircrafts parking, works for renovations of the existing hangar and the handling vehicles shelter have been realized.

The new airdrome wharf has been completed and, along with the forthcoming activation of the railway station, will contribute to create the setting up of an integrated transportation structure to/from the Aeroporto dello Stretto.
